African Exuberance – hand-painted fountain pen

Mardee’s second hand-painted pen, African Exuberance, is such a great reflection of his personality – bright, positive, inspirational. He is effervescent and everyone who meets him remembers his contagious smile and his warmth. This pen also showcases Mardee’s desire to celebrate his Xhosa heritage, with him having grown up in a rural part of South Africa, and to pay homage to other African artistic cultures, including colourful Zulu beadwork and the Ndebele tradition of painting house murals that often feature geometric designs.
Mardee painted his artwork, using relatively coarse yet bold, bright brushstrokes on to one of our fountain pen blanks that we specifically designed for the purpose. Once the artwork was complete we coated it in an outer layer of clear resin which allows the owner to carry and use this art on a daily basis without it getting scratched or damaged. A portable, functional, one-of-one original.
This fountain pen is supplied with an engraved stainless steel Jowo nib.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a relatively wide girth of 16 mm (0,6″) narrowing to a 10,5 mm (0,4″) grip section. It has our logo on the finial, and the finial is ever-so-slightly rounded, rather than dead flat, which adds to the pen’s elegance.
