[Sold] Bird of Paradise – original art fountain pen

R6,000

This original work of art by Lisa Strachan (@lisa.strachan) is bursting with colour and energy. Lisa is such a versatile artist, switching from fine-line botanic art to paintings of sea urchins to watercolours of feathers which look so life-like it takes several minutes to work out that they are not real, to this wild and vibrant depiction of the Strelitzia.

Also known as the Bird of Paradise or Crane Flower, the Strelitzia with its striking orange and blue flowers is a common ornamental plant in Southern California and is even the official flower of Los Angeles. We have one of these plants flowering in our garden where it attracts a variety of birds including the Malachite Sunbird with its iridescent plumage and very long beak that Lisa has painted in a subtle yet unmistakable outline. This pen has a sterling silver ring in the section and our logo medallion embedded in the cap’s finial.
