[Sold] Jellyfish Pirouetting – original art fountain pen

R7,000

Lisa Strachan has painted two unique jellyfish pens. This one, in gentle pastels, shows the jellyfish performing weightless ballet in shallower water, with their pale delicate tendrils looking harmless and lovely. (In real life of course they can carry a venom similar to a bee sting and are capable of eating lots of other sea creatures.) But here on the pen’s cap they pirouette serenely as if impervious to gravity – whether upside down or downside up does not seem to matter. On the barrel Lisa has managed to capture the effect of sunbeams shining through a variety of colourful seaweeds, with scores of little fish schooling in the background.

This is an original, one-of-a-kind work of art. By encasing the painting in clear resin we enable to owner to carry it and use it on a daily basis without damaging the artwork.

This pen has a sterling silver ring on the cap, in the section, and at the juncture between the painted barrel and the rose-burgundy finial, with our bronze logo medallion embedded in the cap’s finial.
