Life is Like a Journey fountain pen

Hanna Farmer has painted this pen with steam trains and thoughts of travelling, inspired by this poem, A Journey, by Dr M Coleman Harris:
Life is like a journey
Taken on a train
With a pair of travelers
At each window pane.
I may sit beside you
All the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere
Never knowing you,
But if fate should mark me
To sit by your side,
Let’s be pleasant travelers;
It’s so short [a] ride.
The reason for the square brackets around the “a” is that it was missed out by mistake, and we did not pick it up until after the artwork had been coated in clear resin. So the poem is every so slightly shorter than the original … however we think this adds to it being an authentic, one-of-a-kind, quirky, hand-painted fountain pen.
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a hand-made argentium silver section ring, cap band, and logo medallion in the cap finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. If you have seen a pen painted by Hanna that has been sold, you are more than welcome to contact us with a request for a pen on a similar theme, or to request a custom pen in a unique theme of your own.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
