Ships Ahoy is the third in the Whale Tales series of zendoodled fountain pens. On this fountain pen, Hanna has drawn gorgeous galleons, or schooners, or … well, ships, where the ships and the whales are one and the same. Hanna’s drawings are so intricate: the rigging, the sails, the buntings are superb and the sea and fishes are enchanting. There are sea urchins on the ocean floor and even another tiny sailing boat in the waves. Oh yes, and yet another on the barrel’s finial!
Hanna painted the background in multiple layers of watercolour on to one of our fountain pen blanks that we specifically designed for the purpose, then doodled her artwork on top of that in the finest pen imaginable. Once the artwork was complete we coated it in an outer layer of clear resin and completed making the pen. This allows the owner to carry and use this art on a daily basis without it getting scratched or damaged. A portable, functional, one-of-one original.
This fountain pen has a bright green grip section to complement the colours on the sea bottom, a sterling silver cap band and section ring, plus a logo in the cap finial, and is supplied with an engraved stainless steel Jowo nib.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a relatively wide girth of 16 mm (0,6″) narrowing to a 10,5 mm (0,4″) grip section. It has our logo on the finial, and the finial is ever-so-slightly rounded, rather than dead flat, which adds to the pen’s elegance.

The section can be made to fit either a Bock #6 or a Jowo #6 nib.
