[Sold] Steampunk Skull Dandy

This hand-painted fountain pen took hours and hours (and many more hours!) for artist Val Myburgh (@valburgh) to paint. And what a stunner she has created. A unique painting in exquisite detail on a tiny canvas. This is art one can carry on one’s person and use every day.

For us as pen-makers, this was a nerve-racking experience to handle an original artwork and develop a new model around it, and it took us literally days to get it to where we felt we had done justice to Val’s painting. We believe we have now got the recipe right and should (cross-fingers) be able to make this model of pen again in future.

Val has hinted at starting a Steampunk series and we are enthusiastically encouraging her to do so.

Material:

Resin base painted with acrylics. The artwork is encased an outer layer of resin which will prevent the artwork from getting scuffed or scratched.

Model:

A specially modified Painted Jabulani model which has a rounded end on the barrel, a slightly tapered waist with an extremely thin stainless steel band as the base of the cap, and a flat finial at the top of the cap into which is set a medallion with our ‘crown of nibs’ logo.

Nib:

Available in Jowo #6 in polished steel. Alternatively in Bock # 6 in bicolour (polished steel & gold-plated), or in polished steel. Please select Fine, Medium or Broad in the check-out.

Refill type:

Standard international fountain pen converter (supplied) or ink cartridge.
