[Sold] The Village – zendoodle fountain pen

This pen, called The Village, took Hanna much longer to draw than most of her other work and one can see why! She doodled the multiple designs in tremendous detail, and then painted in a palette of pastels: sea-glass blue, dusty pink, a violet wash, gentle green and an understated yellow. We have paired it with a pale dove-grey-green section. The colours are very different to her other pens and they kept catching my eye as the pen spun on the lathe. There is something about the combination that speaks to my soul.

The doodles too are mesmerising: there are two sunscapes, one on the barrel with its brilliant radiance, and a sunrise on the cap that has an African feel to the rays. There are animals aplenty in the fields: a dog, a horse, sheep, chickens. There are trees and plants and water in abundance and lots of flowers. A watermill, a water tank on a stand where the even the tap is visible, houses, barns, a stone bridge, fences which are so accurately drawn that one can see when they reach a corner and change direction. Hanna says she occasionally doodles an artwork on one of our pens without any prior planning, having a clear image in her mind of what the final result will look like, but more often has a design worked out in advance which then evolves as she goes. This pen however required a huge amount of time to plan it and figure out how to make all the elements fit together as a cohesive design around the body of our pen. Well done, Hanna!

This fountain pen has a sterling silver cap band and section ring, plus a logo in the cap finial and is supplied with an engraved stainless steel Jowo nib.
