Kseniia Nel’s has strong memories of magnolias heralding spring in her homeland, Ukraine, and painted these flowers in celebration of their flowering season. She has showcased them against a pale blue background with a pearlescent gold shimmer that catches the light as one turns the pen.

In ancient China magnolias were seen as representing feminine beauty and gentleness. And in feng shui, a magnolia tree growing outside a home is said to bring tranquility to those who live there.
