Inspired by The Untouchables, these scenes drawn and painted by Hanna Farmer feature the special team of agents who were handpicked for being incorruptible, hence known as The Untouchables, in the fight against organised crime in Chicago in the 1930s. Working in miniature, Hanna shows city street scenes, the agents, bootleggers, guns, barrels of alcohol, cigars, and vehicles of the era. On the cap is the notorious Al Capone, the gangland kingpin who supplied illegal liquor and controlled virtually the entire city. Hanna has used subdued, almost murky colours that depict the nighttime atmosphere, where the line between sleaze and glamour was hard to distinguish, the good guys and the bad guys equally powerful.
Each of the pens in this series has an actual bullet casing embedded in the barrel finial, and a hand-made silver roll stop in the shape of a revolver. The roll stops were designed and created by jeweller Aileen Février.
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, drawn and painted by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a silver cap band, section ring, and logo medallion in the cap finial.
