Daisy (Buchanan) beaded fountain pen
ZAR9,000.00
If Daisy Buchanan were to write with a pen by Stanford Pen Studio, then she might well choose to write with this one. It has the ’20s, flapper girl, beaded cap, big eye makeup and long cigarette holder feel about it. Yet at the same time very, very chic and stylish. On this pen, the daisy pattern is only just discernible … at the centre of each daisy is an ivory-coloured bead, the petals are a silvery blue and the foliage in between a glorious turquoise.
In The Great Gatsby, Daisy was of course of the object of Jay Gatsby’s obsession, even though she was married to polo player Tom Buchanan.
Jackie Palmer used a total of more than 1 500 tiny Miyuki Delica #11 beads (without a magnifier!!) to do the beadweaving; Dave developed the new model and made the pen, and Lana mixed the custom resin colours: the pen’s body and grip section are a burnt caramel and the finials and grip section are a greeny-turquoise. This pen comes with a chrome-plated clip and our logo medallion embedded in the cap finial.
