A Whale of a Tail features two of Hanna Farmer’s iconic whale doodles on this fountain pen. And in amongst the waves, another one is waving at you with its tail.
Hanna is well known for her whale art – her design on the bottle was commissioned to promote a whale festival in her home town of Hermanus, which is famous for being one of the best whale-watching sites in the world. Her colours are delightful: turquoise, navy blue, sea blue, black, white and salmon pink.
Lana has mixed a perfectly matched salmon pink for the cap and grip section, and Dave has added a bronze cap band, section ring, cap ring and clip, as well as our logo medallion in silver, surrounded by a bronze ring which is embedded in the cap finial.
This pen is in our new Intwana model. (Intwana means “smaller one” in Xhosa, as it is smaller than our standard Jabulani model.)
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. You are more than welcome to contact us with a request for a commissioned fountain pen by Hanna in a unique theme of your own.

Available in Jowo #6 in polished steel. Please select Fine, Medium or Broad at the check-out. We have some 1.1 and 1.5 stubs in stock at the moment as well, so these are also options that can be selected.
Intwana model
SPECIFICATIONS
The new model, the Intwana (meaning Smaller One in Xhosa), is shorter and slimmer, better suited to people who prefer smaller pens or who have smaller hands.
The Intwana model’s cap has a 2-start thread, which means that it opens and closes with a single turn. It has bronze cap and section rings, and the clip is gold-plated.
