Daffodils hand-painted fountain pen

Daffodils, in Carla Nel’s distinctive pointillism style brightens up the dullest day. As the northern hemisphere heads towards fall, we in the south are looking forward to spring, and this pen will remind people even in cold climates that spring will come around again! Carla added a lovely touch: the pollen and seeds and, at the base of the barrel, a seed germinating, illustrating new life starting afresh. This fountain pen has a mustardy yellow background, a glossy black grip section, a bronze cap band, silver section ring, and our logo in silver surrounded by a circle of bronze.

Some people don’t realise that we make every fountain pen from scratch in our workshop in Stanford, South Africa, and that the artists paint directly on to the pen body … not on to a flat surface which is then transferred on to the pen somehow. So each pen takes many, many hours to make. Once the artwork is ready, we encase it in a clear resin, turning it into a portable, functional work of art.

Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.
