African Sunset hand-painted rollerball pen
ZAR6,500.00
Lana le Roux volunteered to paint an experiment for the rollerball model Dave is developing, and she blew us away with her artwork. Her colours are the bright oranges, yellows, backs, greys and the burnt umber of the African bushveld at sunset.
As with our hand-painted fountain pens, each of these rollerball pens is individually painted by the artist. We then coat the artwork in a 1mm layer of clear resin, which protects it and allows the owner to carry and use a portable, functional work of art. We realise that not everybody writes with a fountain pen (I kiddeth you not), hence developed this rollerball version of our hand-painted fountain pens. It is ideal as a gift for a non-FP-enthusiast, for left handers who need a break sometimes from protecting their work from wet fountain pen ink, and for FP-enthusiasts who also enjoy using other high quality writing instruments.
Although this is a prototype, the final shape will be similar to this version. The grey barrel is a cylindrical shape, with a black resin grip section and a bronze housing for the rollerball. The cap is black with a bronze cap band and clip, and with our logo medallion embedded in the cap finial.
This is a model that was made specifically for this pen and not one we normally make. If you would like to enquire about a custom-made pen in this model, please contact us so that we can discuss possible options.
