Arum Lily & Frogs hand-painted fountain pen

These frogs are indescribably cute! They have evolved to live inside the arum lily, and while arums are found in nature in many locations in Southern Africa, and now grow around the world, the arum lily frog is found only in the Western Cape of South Africa. Lisa Strachan has painted these beautiful lilies and their tiny amphibian residents on this fountain pen. At full size, these frogs are no longer than a matchbox and are brilliant at camouflaging themselves against the arum’s white spathe by tucking their bright orange feet underneath their bodies!
This pen is our Jabulani model. For the grip section Lana mixed a custom yellow colour to match the flower’s spadix (the yellow spike-shaped thing – I made a mistake and called this its stamen in the video I took.) Interesting factoid for today: the white “flower” is in fact a modified leaf and the flowers are actually tiny, single-sex, and located at the bottom of the spadix. This pen features a hand-made silver cap band and section ring, and our silver logo inside a bronze ring embedded in the cap finial.

Intwana model
SPECIFICATIONS
The new model, the Intwana (meaning Smaller One in Xhosa), is shorter and slimmer, better suited to people who prefer smaller pens or who have smaller hands.
The Intwana model’s cap has a 2-start thread, which means that it opens and closes with a single turn. It has bronze cap and section rings, and the clip is gold-plated.
