[Sold] Call of Gulls hand-painted fountain pen

Call of Gulls is the third in her Seascape Series, by highly regarded South African artist, Paula Louw. Paula moved a few years ago to live near the sea and her love of the seashore, as well as her painterly way of capturing a scene, are evident in this pen. In this cameo the gulls seems to be playing in the waves, seeing how close they can get to being splashed without being swamped, reverse thrusting out of the way at the very last second.This fountain pen has a grey grip section, whereas the other recent pen in the series, Spray of Gulls, has a turquoise section.
This pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted by Paula then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. We have added grey grip section to match the underside of the gulls’ wings, as well as a bronze section ring, bronze cap band and our logo medallion embedded in the cap finial.
One thing we ought to emphasise is that each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen. The artist paints directly on to the pen, which takes an exceptional level of talent and skill … not to mention time!

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
