[Available] The Citrus Family Tree fountain pen

How fascinating. All the citrus fruits we know so well originated from just five species, as painted and drawn by Yulia Glas on this fountain pen. Inspired by an illustration by Monica Serrano that originally appeared in a National Geographic Magazine article, her painting shows the five ancestor species, each listed on a ribbon. From there the lineage branches out (see what I did there?) to popular fruit such as blood oranges, sweet oranges, tangelo, grapefruit, different limes, and lemons. Yulia has painted this against a plain white background, and included details of the plants seeds, flowers, leaves and even a pollinator … a honeybee. And how she managed to write all that detail in something like a point 4 font! Impressive.

Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen, however if you would like to request a custom pen from Yulia that has a similar theme, you are welcome to contact us via the contact form on our website.

This is a gently curvaceous model, with a relatively wide girth of 16 mm (0,6″) narrowing to a 10,5 mm (0,4″)  grip section. It has our logo on the finial, and the finial is ever-so-slightly rounded, rather than dead flat, which adds to the pen’s elegance.
