Lithops (Living Stones) hand-painted fountain pen

As a botanic artist, Lisa Strachan has a particularly soft spot for the vulnerable, rare and endangered plants. Many Lithops species are close to extinction, due to their cuteness! These succulents are extremely slow growing, they come in a variety of camouflage shades, flower spectacularly once a year, and (unfortunately) have become popular with plant collectors. Their Greek name, which translates to stone face, refers to their resemblance to little pebbles, and they are also known as living stones, plakkies (little flat things), and bokspoortjies (little buck hoof prints). Lisa painted this pen as a tribute to their fragile beauty.
We added a glossy black grip section and a hand-crafted silver cap band and section ring, and a silver-coloured logo medallion which is embedded in the cap finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art painted directly on to the fountain pen. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
