Romeo and Juliet hand-painted fountain pen

The heart-breaking story of Romeo and Juliet, the two star-cross’d lovers who died rather than live without the other, has been retold many times. It originated as an Italian tale in the mid 1500s, and was turned into the famous play at least 30 years later by William Shakespeare. Hanna Farmer has painted some of the highlights in her unique style, including: Juliet on the balcony; the lovers kissing; the bottle of poison the Romeo drinks, “Thus, with a kiss, I die”; their families’ coats of arms from a Spanish film which imagined what the couple would be like had they not died as teenagers; and a dagger through a red rose representing Juliet’s heart (I told you it was heart-breaking!).
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a black grip section, and a hand-made silver section ring, cap band, and logo medallion in the cap finial.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
