Travelling Islands hand-painted fountain pen

This is a classic Hanna Farmer zendoodled fantasy fountain pen. I am astounded at where her imagination takes her. On this pen, painted in sky blue and warm sunrise tones, she has an array of the most fantastic islands that travel by air from place to place. One is held aloft by tethered balloons, another is powered by sails that take their inspiration from dragon-wings-cum-Chinese-junk-sails. Several have steam-driven propellors (this is a steampunk pen, after all); and several have rowboats hanging from pulleys that allow the boat to be lowered into the sea when the island gets low enough over the water. This is to enable some of the residents to go fishing. Of course. One island even has a lighthouse on it. And then there are ducks. Hanna likes ducks. Why should we always have birds in paintings, she asks. What about the ducks? And so, she has ducks.
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a silver cap band, section ring, and silver logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a brick-red grip section.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
