You are my sun, my moon painted fountain pen

What a magnificent painting on one of our fountain pens by Yulia Glas. This pen makes me think of the final line from the E.E Cummings’s poem, “Yours is the light”: –you are my sun,my moon,and all my stars. Yulia has painted the cap in a midnight blue background the includes a colour shift which changes its shimmer from sapphire blue to an ephemeral violet. The sun and moon are painted in a pearlescent white with fine detailing in black. The barrel is painted in the same pearlescent white, and the twin cats are in black with fine white details, and spots of glittering blue that look like tiny shards of blue diamonds. Lana mixed a deep spangly midnight blue for the grip section, Dave made the fountain pen and added a silver cap band, section ring and logo medallion embedded in the cap finial. Our jeweller friend Aileen Février made the silver rings by hand, so this fountain pen truly represents wonderful teamwork.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
