Renée Gerstner’s painting of Barn Swallows is such a delight. Whichever way one turns the pen, there are swallows everywhere. Two larger birds sit on a wire near the base of the barrel. Their colours are gorgeous – an indigo blue hoodie with a russet face, white chest and grey underwings. In flight, these  swallows have such distinctive trailing tail feathers making them instantly recognisable. Our neighbours have a pair who return every year to nest in their verandah. Come autumn, they gather on phone lines as they ready for their migration to warmer climes. Renée has captured this perfectly.

Lana has mixed a beautifully complementary colour for the section material, and we have added a silver section ring, cap band and our logo medallion which is embedded in the cap finial.
