Metamorphosis original art fountain pen

On this fountain pen, Brandon Lodewyk has returned to his favourite medium, graphite, and to his love of combining the female form with nature. Metamorphosis refers to how each of us transforms over time, with the symbols of a curled woman emerging as if from a cocoon and turning into a butterfly. As one turns the pen she is also transitioning into a beautiful tree. Her foot extends over the bottom of the barrel and merges on the other side with a lotus flower, symbolising rebirth and how we all have to change during our lifetimes.

On the cap Brandon has continued the theme of gorgeous butterflies and lotus flowers. The graphite gives the pen a subtle sheen, despite the finish being just as glossy as any of our other pens, and the colour is a warm grey-black with a hint of brown. Lana managed to continue this concept through her custom mix of a black-brown for the grip section. The opposite of a boring grey or a stark black.

This pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, illustrated by Brandon in graphite then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. We have added a bronze section ring, bronze cap band and our silver logo medallion inside a bronze circle embedded in the cap finial.

Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.
