This fountain pen, Nishikigoi (koi is a shortened version of this full name in Japanese) has been many months in the making. Kseniia has created an artwork with a burnished gold background, stylised koi in colours of saffron, salmon pink and pale yellow, with scales that shimmer like diamond dots, swimming in amongst waves that are reminiscent of Hokusai’s famous blockprint, The Great Wave Off Kanagawa. She has even painted a miniature wave on the bottom of the barrel.
Lana le Roux mixed a custom burnt orange colour resin for the section material and we have added a bronze cap band, section ring and logo in the finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.
