Hanna’s Sous Chef reminds me of the animated film Ratatouille, with the rat that had a refined palate and was able to cook up the most mouthwatering meals. in her drawing, Hanna has mice concocting recipes, snipping herbs, adding seasoning, and a hen helping with the cooking. Her level of detail is astonishing. with vegetables, crockery, implements, brickwork, herbs growing in pots, an apron with the words, “Never Trust a Skinny Chef”, bottles, jars and even kites flying gaily outside the window. And then of course a tiny mouse inside a teapot.
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze section ring, and silver logo medallion in the cap finial. Lana has mixed a special mustard-yellow material for the section, which matches some of the highlights in the artwork.
