Hanna Farmer’s ‘The Grey ghost’ is an amazing illustration of military history, made all the more astonishing as she drew and painted it on a fountain pen. She has managed to capture the essence of not just one but two aircraft carriers – USS Enterprise CV-6 and USS Lexington CV-2 – as well as aircraft such as the TBD Devastator torpedo bomber and the SBD Dauntless dive bomber.
