Hummingbirds on Mottled Gold fountain pen

This is an experiment suggested by Yulia Glas which I believe has worked extremely well. Lana mixed a mottled gold resin, that has lots of gold sparkles mixed in with a streaky lemon-butterscotch colour as the material for the body of the pen. Then Yulia painted the hummingbirds directly on to that, and added golden leaves that have this amazing characteristic of becoming invisible, then reappearing as one turns the pen. The two birds Yulia painted on the cap have iridescent malachite plumage on their bodies and pearlescent white wings. Lana then sealed each part of the fountain pen in a clear resin, which protects the painting and allows the owner to carry round, and use, a portable work of art.
The grip section is made from the same mottled gold. Dave made the fountain pen as well as the bronze cap band and section ring. Our logo medallion, with our logo made of silver that is surrounded by a black background and encircled by a bronze ring, is embedded in the cap finial.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
