Thank you for the Music painted fountain pen
ZAR10,000.00
What a celebration of music! Hanna Farmer has illustrated this fountain pen with scenes from a variety of musical genres – from classical to jazz to blues to pop. She has a cellist with sparkles in her hair playing her instrument in a magnificent concert setting; a jazz band with a trombonist and double bass; and another in a club scene with a saxophonist, drummer and guitarist.
On the barrel is a scene filled with promise – an empty stage with only the musical instruments in silhouette … a grand piano, drums, guitar and even a harp. Above this are the words from the ABBA song, Thank you for the Music: “Without a song or a dance, what are we?” In amongst the swirls of colour on the pen body there is a gramophone, a treble clef, a saxophone, a guitar, a trumpet, a larger harp, cymbals and keyboards and music scores that flow like draped fabric. Lana mixed a gold section material that shimmers and sparkles like an ABBA gold sequinned tank top under a disco ball. (If you are from that era, you will get the mental image.)
The pen was made by Dave at Stanford Pen Studio, drawn and painted by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. The clear resin protects the artwork from being scratched during day to day use, making this a portable, functional work of art. It has a bronze section ring, cap band, and bronze and silver logo medallion in the cap finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. If you have seen a pen painted by Hanna that has been sold, you are more than welcome to contact us with a request for a pen on a similar theme, or to request a custom pen in a unique theme of your own.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
