[Sold] Amani Trolls Clan painted fountain pen

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Trolls live in many countries and in Iceland are said to live in the mountains, deep in the most uninhabitable highlands. The first type is known as the forest or mountain troll, and are generally depicted as being large, dumb, brutish creatures. The Amani clan of trolls is the most powerful forest tribe. As with all trolls, they are able to travel only at night and will turn to stone when hit by sunlight, hence there being so many rock formations named after trolls in Iceland. This clan is diverse and quite scary looking until you get to see them up close. And then they are terrifying to look at! But Hanna Farmer believes they are misunderstood. In fact, she likes trolls, hence her painting several of their portraits on this pen.

When I last counted, she had painted or drawn nine trolls on this pen’s cap and another three on the barrel, including one under the bridge. (Trolls often live under bridges.) The one on the barrel with the formidable nose is enchanting, to say the least.

This pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and zendoodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a silver section ring, cap band and a logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a grip section in a custom-made sparkly silver and grey material.

Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art, hence no-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model

SPECIFICATIONS

This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
