Lisa Strachan is a botanical artist known for the accuracy in plant drawings … and for having a quirky side to her nature, as evidenced by her fascination with carnivorous plants. The hungry plants she has painted on this pen are accurate, beautiful though in slightly a macabre sort of way, and lethal. The Venus Fly Trap slams shut on insects that set off some of its trigger hairs, and the Pitcher Plant lures insects and even small frogs into its belly … but make it impossible for them to escape. (Out of interest, frogs’ feet are not digested, so frogs’ slippers are often all that remain of the little amphibians!) We know that many pen lovers have equally quirky interests and that this pen will have tremendous allure for just the right person.
Carnivorous Plants has an argentium silver section ring, cap band and logo medallion in the cap finial and Lisa’s initials on the barrel finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art painted directly on to the fountain pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
