Lawrence of Arabia is the 1962 epic film that romanticised the real-life exploits of T E Lawrence, a British army officer, archaeologist, author, saboteur, rebel and diplomat who played a role in attacks on Aqaba and Damascus during the First World War. Starring Peter O’ Toole, the film was nominated for 10 Oscars and won 7. This painting by Hanna Farmer is part of her Modern Classics series. It shows Lawrence in his dashing white silk robes riding a camel; a steam train that Lawrence attacked; Lawrence wearing the magnificent steel and silver dagger that was presented to him after the capture of Aqaba; bedouin tents and typical Arab architecture.
The fountain pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio. It has a custom burnt orange grip section, a custom, hand-crafted solid silver roll stop made by jeweller Aileen Février in the shape of an open book, as well as a silver cap band and section ring made by her.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art that is painted directly on to the pen body. The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
