Like Wildflowers hand-painted fountain pen

Hanna Farmer has chosen this evocative quote to illustrate one of our fountain pens: “Like wildflowers, grow in all the places people said you never would”. Her doodles include gorgeous wildflowers in fall colours: oranges and bright yellows and blacks against a landscape of rolling hills shades of green pastures and ripened wheat. Her two young redheads are wearing chequered scarves, multi-layered coats in wonderful patterns, and with pretty decorated heart shapes with centres of sunshine yellow.
The quote is by the black poet, professor, feminist and warrior, Audre Lorde. Having been down a quick rabbit hole to find out more about this astonishing woman, there is no doubt that she grew in places people had said she never would!
We have added to this fountain pen’s “kill winter with orange” vibe by adding a grip section in bright, almost neon orange. The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze section ring, bronze cap band, and a silver and bronze logo medallion in the cap finial.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
