As a botanic artist, Lisa Strachan spends a lot of her time discovering and painting rare and endangered plant species. Yet she is also able to recognise the beauty in the ordinary; in the case the common or garden dandelion. When they bloom with their bright yellow flowers they are often regarded as a weed. Yet people still find themselves returning to their childlike state of delight when they pick a seed head and make a wish, blowing the feathery seeds and seeing if they can release all of them in a single breath.
This fountain pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted by Lisa and sealed in clear resin before its final shaping, polishing and buffing to get that immaculate mirror shine.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art painted directly on to the fountain pen. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
