[Available] Pompeii painted fountain pen

Hanna Farmer really raised my eyebrows when she showed me her painting on this pen as I had no idea the city of Pompeii had been so beautiful before it was smothered in ash. The image I had inside my head was one of uniform grey, yet in her painting she has imagined what colourful daily life was like for ordinary citizens … people at the market, baking bread, enjoying the view, relaxing at the baths, watching gladiators duelling in the amphitheatre. She has reproduced art found in the ruins, which stretches back from the city’s Hellenic and Roman periods, including mosaics, statues paintings of cherubs, chequerboard floor tiles and beautiful architecture. On the cap is Vesuvius, just as it erupts. What a tragedy, yet what treasures that is to this day are still being unearthed. This pen is a tribute to a magnificent city frozen in time.
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and drawn by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. We have included a silver cap band, section ring, and logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a rusty-red grip section.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art, hence no-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
