Mortal Engines painted fountain pen
We had a suggestion for a fountain pen painted on this theme and the idea of steampunk cities and airships, was ideally suited to Hanna Farmer’s style. The theme is based on the 2018 movie, Mortal Engines, which in turn is based on the award-winning Philip Reeve young adult science fiction book of the same name. The storyline involves a post-apocalyptic world in which technological progress has come to a halt and a lot of scientific and technological knowledge has been lost … hence the return to the use of steam power and “old tech”. It features Traction Cities that devour smaller cities, as well as airships, and a race to save the world from a ghastly weapon of mass destruction.
This pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and zendoodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze cap band, section ring, and logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a glossy black section.
One thing we ought to emphasize is that each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art. No-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
