Pincushion proteas look so ornate it is difficult to believe they grow like that in the wild, yet they do! Hanna Farmer has illustrated the flower and related elements, such as seed pods, a mantis, worker bees, and the queen bee in an olde worlde style, with hand-written annotations against a background the colour of faded parchment. She has created a lovely retro feel that makes the fountain pen look as if it was made a century ago, rather than this month!
The raw pen blank was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, Hanna painted and drew directly on to the pen blank, then we coated it in a clear resin and gave the pen its final shape, polished, and buffed it. This allows the owner to carry the fountain pen with them and use it on a daily basis, without fear of damaging the artwork. It has a hand-made argentium silver section ring, silver cap band, and silver and bronze logo medallion in the cap finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. If you have seen a pen painted by Hanna that has been sold, you are more than welcome to contact us with a request for a pen on a similar theme, or to request a custom pen in a unique theme of your own.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
