[Sold] The Mysterious Island – hand-painted fountain pen

On this pen, Hanna Farmer has combined elements from Jules Verne’s original, The Mysterious Island, with Hollywood’s 2012 interpretation of the classic tale (Journey 2, which starred Dwane Johnson, no less!) to create an epic fantasy-sci-fest fountain pen. There is a hot air balloon that the intrepid adventurers escape on, but from which one of them nearly falls to his death (you may need a microscope to see this on Hanna’s pen!); a terrifying giant bee that becomes a flying steed; a volcano that resembles a primitive mask; Captain Nemo’s Nautilus’ submarine (he survived 20 000 Leagues and has been hiding on the Island); a giant crab … with so much more that deserves to be explored!
The Mysterious Island is the first in a current series of 3 Jules Verne pens painted by Hanna. So far she has also painted 20 000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
This pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and zendoodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze cap band, section ring, and bronze logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a light turquoise section. The pen comes with a steel Jowo #6 nib.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art, hence no-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a relatively wide girth of 16 mm (0,6″) narrowing to a 10,5 mm (0,4″) grip section. It has our logo on the finial, and the finial is ever-so-slightly rounded, rather than dead flat, which adds to the pen’s elegance.
