What a Wonderful World – Sing-along Songs fountain pen
ZAR9,000.00
If you are like me, as soon as you hear the opening lines, I see trees of green, red roses too … you can immediately hear Louis Armstrong’s unmistakable raspy voice in your head. In her new series of paintings and zendoodles on our fountain pens, based on favourite songs, or Sing-along Songs as she calls them, Hanna has painted this tribute to What a Wonderful World. First recorded by the one and only Satchmo in 1967, it became one of his signature songs. (Did you know that the nickname Satchmo was a shortened version of Satchel Mouth, a moniker given to Louis Armstrong due to his wide mouth, which he liked and adopted.) Hanna’s painting includes lines from the song against a blue and turquoise background, a shiny rainbow on the cap and garlands of red roses twined around a tree and up into the sky. Lana mixed a brick red resin for the grip section that accentuates the roses on this pen.
The pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and doodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has an argentium silver section ring, cap band, and logo medallion in the cap finial.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is an original work of art. If you have seen a pen painted by Hanna that has been sold, you are more than welcome to contact us with a request for a pen on a similar theme, or to request a custom pen in a unique theme of your own.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.
