Based on the Jules Verne novel, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Hanna Farmer’s painting on a fountain pen is packed with detail: sea serpents; a survivor of the shipwreck clinging on to the mast; prehistoric animals roaming under giant mushroom trees; the explorers in a cave (note the bats hanging from the roof of the cave and one of the adventurers abseiling); and the volcano erupting. Somehow Hanna manages to capture almost as much detail on a fountain pen as the author covered in a book of and many cinematographers have covered in films. She truly is a master of the miniature.
Journey to the Center of the Earth is the second in a current series of 3 Jules Verne pens painted by Hanna. So far she has also painted 20 000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island.
This pen was made by us at Stanford Pen Studio, painted and zendoodled by Hanna then coated in a clear resin by ourselves and given its final shape, polished, and buffed. It has a bronze cap band, section ring, and bronze logo medallion in the cap finial, and we have added a teal-blue section. The pen comes with a steel Jowo #6 nib.
Each of our hand-painted fountain pens is a 1/1 original work of art, hence no-one else will ever own an identical pen.

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a relatively wide girth of 16 mm (0,6″) narrowing to a 10,5 mm (0,4″) grip section. It has our logo on the finial, and the finial is ever-so-slightly rounded, rather than dead flat, which adds to the pen’s elegance.
