[Sold] Snowflakes hand-painted fountain pen
We had a suggestion more than a year ago that we ask one of the artists with whom we work to paint a pen featuring snowflakes. Only one problem: we don’t have much snow in South Africa. Luckily Kaseniia Nel, who grew up in Ukraine, has an intimate knowledge of snowflakes, and she obliged. She has included some additional elements associated with winter in her home country: the bush with red berries, known as guelder-rose in English and Kalyna in Ukrainian, is seen as a portent of what the coming winter is likely to be like: the more bright red berries there are, the more snow and the harsher the winter is expected to be. The birds that Kseniia has painted are bull finches, and they love the Kalyna bushes as these berries are one of the few sources of food during the deepest of winter. We love Kseniia’s portrayal of winter, and of snowflakes. Well done!

The Jabulani model
SPECIFICATIONS
This is a gently curvaceous model, with a girth of 16 mm (0,6”), narrowing to a 10,7 mm (0,4”) grip section. The relatively large size of the model is to allow the artist sufficient space for their artwork, and the artwork is encased in a layer of clear resin to protect it from getting damaged during day-to-day use. Our logo medallion is embedded in the cap finial which is ever-so-slightly rounded, and the barrel finial is ever-so-slightly conical. The cap is a flush-fit and does not post. The Jabulani model usually comes with a hand-made, cap band and section ring in either Argentium silver or bronze, though this may differ depending on what best suits the artwork. Custom hand-crafted roll stops can be added.

We supply our pens with a Jowo #6 nib, alternatively the section can be made to fit a Bock #6 if requested.
